On Saturday, 14th March 2026, the Klemzig Community Hall came alive with warmth, laughter, and meaningful connections as NSUers gathered for a memorable Ramadan Iftar.
The event, held from 7:00 PM to 9:30 PM, was more than just an opportunity to break the fast – it was a celebration of community, reflection, and the spirit of togetherness that defines the essence of Ramadan.
The evening was marked by the aroma of delicious dishes and the sound of heartfelt conversations. Guests came together to enjoy a variety of carefully prepared foods, including the standout creations from Tammi’s Kitchen, whose catering added an extra touch of warmth and authenticity to the gathering. Attendees weren’t just sharing a meal – they were sharing stories, catching up with old friends, and meeting new faces, all in a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere.
Gratitude was at the heart of the event, and a special thank you was extended to the generous sponsors and supporters who helped make the Iftar possible. Naisha’s Collections and Golabaji played a crucial role in bringing the evening to life, and their support was greatly appreciated by all. Their contributions helped set the tone for a night filled with appreciation and unity.
As the evening unfolded, it became clear that the Iftar was not just about food – it was about the connections that were being built in that very moment. Many attendees expressed how much they appreciated the casual, laid-back nature of the event, which allowed everyone to relax and enjoy the evening without any pressure. The feeling of community was palpable as NSUers from all backgrounds came together to celebrate and reflect on the significance of Ramadan.
The feedback was overwhelmingly positive, and several attendees shared ideas for future gatherings. Here’s what people had to say:
- Casual Meetups: Many of you proposed the idea of more casual, occasional meetups. The relaxed, easygoing atmosphere at this Iftar made it clear how much everyone enjoys informal gatherings that allow for natural connections without the pressure of formality.
- Boishakh Festival: There was strong enthusiasm for celebrating Boishakh with a cultural setup, traditional foods, and activities. It seems like many are eager for more cultural events like this to bring people together.
- Picnic in the Park: With the winter weather on the way, several attendees suggested organising a picnic in the park. The idea of enjoying good food outdoors with games and socialising was met with excitement, and it’s something we’re definitely considering.
Looking ahead, organisers are already thinking about ways to continue building on this sense of togetherness. The success of the Iftar gathering has laid the groundwork for more community-driven events that will allow NSUers to come together, share experiences, and celebrate each other’s company.
As the evening came to a close, the sense of gratitude in the air was unmistakable. Volunteers, attendees, donors, and supporters all played a part in making the night a success, and the collective energy of the group was what made the event so special. The memories made that evening will stay with everyone, a reminder of the power of community and the importance of coming together, especially during such a meaningful time as Ramadan.
Thank you to everyone who attended, volunteered, or supported the event. Your presence made this Iftar a memorable one, and we look forward to the next opportunity to come together, celebrate, and create even more moments of connection.
